Anna Marie Jakubek

November 21, 1929 — February 20, 2026

**Anna's mass of Christian burial will take place at St. James "The Greater"  Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.                  Day and time of service will be announced as soon as they are confirmed with the church.**

CONCORD- Anna Marie Jakubek, 96, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026 at 10:18 a.m. at Terra Bella Senior Living in Harrisburg, NC. Mom was of deep faith who loved Jesus and recognized Him as her friend. She was loved by all who met her and she will be missed dearly. She was born in Throop, PA to her late parents Andrew and Theresa Reistetter, and she was the youngest of nine siblings who all predeceased her (Emery, Mary, George, Leonard, Andrew, Edward, Joseph, and Paul). She is survived by her loving husband Ladislav Jakubek, two daughters Anne Marie (Henry) Sieczkos, and Cecilia (Andy) Heydeck. She has two grandsons, Andrew Jr. (Tracey) Heydeck and Westley (Rachel) Heydeck. She loved spending time with her two great-granddaughters, Aubrie and Evalie Heydeck.

 Anna’s family moved to Brooklyn, NY when she was 12 years old. She loved going with her mom to the movies and plays, and taking the trolley to and from home. When Anna was in high school her family lived in Binghamton NY. She was a member of the National Honor Society at Binghamton Central High School and earned a scholarship to Charles S. Wilson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from this three-year nursing program as a registered nurse and worked for 19 years at Charles S. Wilson Memorial Hospital. She loved being a nurse.

 Anna met the love of her life, Ladislav “Walt” Jakubek and married him in 1953. They recently spent their 73rd wedding anniversary together on January 17th. Anna and Walt loved to travel around the world, going to South America, Europe, and Asia many times. When she lived in the Triple Cities with her Walt and children she enjoyed ceramics and sewing. Anna retired as a public health nurse in 1979 and then moved with Ladislav to Concord, NC and she remained in the local area until her death. Anna loved to participate in the Cabarrus County, North Carolina State, and the National Senior Games. She was an avid cyclist earning numerous medals over the years. She also spent a lot of time caring for her beautiful roses all around her home in Concord.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. James "The Greater" Catholic Church in Concord. Many, many heartfelt thanks to the loving and attentive staff and caregivers at Terra Bella, Via Health Partners, Bayada Home Health Care, and the Rosary Society at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Anna’s name may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
