Ascencion Sanchez Contreras

Ascención Contreras falleció en paz el 17 de septiembre de 2026 en Atrium Hospice House. Nació el 16 de mayo de 1945 en Guerreo, México, hijo de Ricardo Contreras y Martina Sanchez.

Ascención fue un esposo dedicado, un padre y abuelo amoroso, y un hombre de profunda fe cristiana. Su mayor alegría era compartir tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos. Le encantaba salir a comer con ellos, ver partidos de fútbol en casa con sus nietos Xavier y Cali, sentarse al aire libre y disfrutar de la belleza de la naturaleza. ¡Además, nunca podía resistirse a algo dulce!

Su fe en Dios fue una fuente de fortaleza, esperanza y consuelo a lo largo de su vida. Confiaba en el amor y las promesas del Señor, y encontraba paz al saber que Dios caminaba a su lado. Su familia encuentra consuelo en la certeza de que ahora descansa en la presencia del Señor, libre de todo dolor y rodeado de amor eterno.

Quienes conocieron a Ascención siempre recordarán el gran amor que sentía por su familia y la felicidad que encontraba en los momentos sencillos de la vida. Su presencia, las melodías que silbaba, su amor y los hermosos recuerdos que creó permanecerán para siempre en los corazones de quienes lo amaron.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Maria Contreras; sus hijos, Ricardo, Javier, Diana, Gabriel, y Daniel Contreras, Alfredo, Mariana y Adriana Vazquez; sus queridas nietas, Angie Contreras, Paulina y Karina Sanchez; todos sus amados nietos y bisnietos; y muchos otros familiares y amigos.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el miércoles 23 de septiembre de 2026 a las 11:00 a. m., en la capilla de Wilkinson Funeral Home, oficiado por el pastor Fernando Gallardo. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en West Concord Cemetery. La familia recibirá a familiares y amigos a partir de las 9:30 a. m. del miércoles en la funeraria.

Ascención Contreras passed away peacefully, September 17,2026 at Atrium Hospice House. He was born on May16th, 1945, in Guerreo, Mexico to Ricardo Contreras and Martina Sanchez.

Ascención was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. A man of deep Christian faith. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved going out to eat together, watching soccer games at home with his grandchildren Xavier & Cali, sitting outdoors, and enjoying the beauty of nature- and he could never resist something sweet!

His faith in God was a source of strength, hope, and comfort throughout his life. He trusted in the Lord's love and promises, he found peace knowing that God walked beside him. His family finds comfort in the assurance that he now rests in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and eternal love.

Those whose knew Ascención will always remember the great love he had for his family and the happiness he found in life's simple moments. His presence, his melody whistles. Love, and treasured memories will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Ascención is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Contreras; his children, Ricardo, Javier, Diana, Gabriel and Daniel Contreras. Alfredo, Mariana and Adriana Vazquez; His beloved granddaughters, Angie Contreras, Paulina and Karina Sanchez, All of his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

His funeral service at 11:00 am at Wilkinson Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Fernando Gallardo. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
