Beatrice Grey

December 23, 1944 — November 3, 2025

Concord

Mrs. Beatrice "Bebe" Colerider Grey of Concord took her last breath on this side of life on Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Andrews Living Center.

The family will celebrate the life of Bebe on Sunday, November 9, from 12:30 pm until 4:30 pm at the home of Cynthia and Mike Rohrer, located at 65 Union Street N. in Concord. The family will also hold a graveside service at a later time. Please get in touch with the family for details should you want to attend.

Bebe was born on December 23, 1944, in Concord, NC, to the late Sam Willis Colerider Jr. and Mary Beatrice Boyd Colerider. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parks Edward Grey Jr., her brother, Sam Colerider III, and both parents.

In her early years of education, Bebe attended Concord High School, followed by graduation from A.L. Brown High School in 1963. She was "Miss 4th of July" in Mount Pleasant in 1962. She briefly attended UNCC, then started her career at the Medicine Shop Pharmacy in Concord, NC, under the ownership of her friend, the late Bill Harris. She later joined her father's business, Economy Linen Supply, and remained there even after the company was sold. Throughout her life, she participated in continuing education classes in different subjects.

Upon a desire for a professional change, she joined the registration admin team in the Family Center at NorthEast Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, where she retired to provide full-time care for her four grandchildren and her mother. She enjoyed traveling with both of her daughters on many great and memorable adventures. She was a hidden artist skilled in needlepoint, painting, drawing, knotting, knitting, sewing, and other crafts. She also belonged to many clubs and organizations and spent many years with the Junior Charity League of Concord. She was also a long-time Sunday School teacher and active member within her church.

Bebe was surrounded by many friends. Sheila McGee, Vicki Harris, Libby Fletcher, and Judy Fletcher were four who have been like sisters for her and second moms for her daughters. They have supported the family throughout the journey. In addition, she was blessed to have her exceptional caregiver, Charity Owens, by her side and remain a valued part of our extended family household. It cannot go without acknowledgement to all the wonderful caregivers at St Andrews Living Center for the genuine love, care, and tenderness they showed our sweet mom. She affected everyone she met and welcomed them into her loving orbit as if they were blood-related.

Bebe never met a stranger. She made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered and was a true fighter. She instilled her values in all those around her. Bebe will be deeply missed, but we find comfort knowing she will watch over us until it is our time to join her on our journey home.

For those who knew her, she loved nature and animals. She had a special place for her grand and great-grand dogs and often kept them at her home. She loved their visits and would brighten when they were around. Bebe was a strong, vivacious lady who was always willing to help those in need with kindness and love.

Bebe is survived by daughters Sandra Boyd Grey and Cynthia Marie Grey Rohrer (Michael); grandchildren Austin Rohrer (Tiffany), Kasey R. Winkles (Blake), Mary Alexis R. Murphy (Jacob), and Abigail Rohrer; great grandchildren Parks and Caulder Winkles; siblings Linda C. Grist (Bill), and David Colerider (Refugio); and many other very special family members, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was deeply loved and connected to all her friends and relatives.
