Benton Luther Carriker

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Benton Luther Carriker, 81, former resident of Concord passed away in Garden City on March 5, 2026.

Benton was laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park with military graveside rites.  

He was born in Cabarrus County on November 16, 1944.  He was the son of Douglas Benton and Mary Lou Blackwelder Carriker.  He made his life in Concord until moving to the beach 20 years ago.  He is a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord.  As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Benton served two tours in Vietnam over a six year period.  He then served in the Army National Guard for 16 years in the #1454 Transportation Unit.  Before retirement he was a truckdriver for concrete Supply in Concord.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer.

Mr. Carriker is survived by his wife, Paulette Carriker; stepdaughter, Natalie Bost; daughter, Monica; three grandchildren and other extended family members.
