Mr. Buddy L. Weaver passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Buddy was born on August 4,1937 in LeGrande, Oregon to the late Merle Dallas Weaver and Gladys Mae Goble Weaver. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Merle Weaver and Walt Weaver.
Buddy was raised in Washington State where he lived until he graduated high school. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base where he served for 4 years. During that time, he met the love of his life, Brenda, at a church picnic. They were later married and moved to Tallahassee, Florida where Buddy attended Florida State University. Buddy joined IBM in 1961 and worked there for 19 years. In 1981 he opened Weaver Typewriter Service and was often referred to as "The Typewriter Man." He and his wife, Brenda, moved their business to Church Street and opened Weaver Business Machines and Office Supplies in 1986. They served the Concord and Charlotte area for many years and genuinely loved interacting with people in the community.
Family was a priority for Buddy so when a family member became ill, he and Brenda moved to Florida to take care of him. Many years later, they moved back home to North Carolina where they created lasting memories with family and friends. He loved traveling across the U.S., especially to the West Coast.
Buddy loved the Lord with all his heart and was a man of faith and prayer. He studied his Bible diligently and prayed for anyone in need. He was an example of integrity and faithfulness to all who knew him. He will also be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help others. He served in his local church and served as a Gideon for many years. As a Gideon, he loved giving his testimony at different churches.
Buddy left a lasting legacy to his family that will be carried on to future generations.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Brenda Dellinger Weaver; son, David Mark Weaver (Rhonda); daughters, Nancy Earnhardt (Jerry), and Kathy Blackley (Steve); grandchildren, Steven Blackley, Rebekah Stover (Jordan), Anna Chaney (Christopher), Sarah Mercer (Dakota), Kayla Thompson (Ellison), Caroline Haywood (Isaiah), and Kristina Weaver; great-grandchildren, Caden Stover, Emory Thompson and Wesley Thompson.
