Concord

C. "Dean" Driggers, Jr. age 56, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, August 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. A celebration of life service will be Friday, August 15th at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. James Strickland officiating. Dean will be laid to rest at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord.

Dean, as he was known by family and friends, was born February 16, 1969 in Rockingham, NC to Curtis Driggers, Sr. and Fran Haywood Driggers.

Dean was a beloved CMPD police officer and Detective (retired). He was so proud to be a part of CMPD and loved helping people. Although he loved his time as a police officer/detective, his favorite titles were husband, dad, son, and Papaw. Dean was a true family man. He loved God and his family with his whole heart. He was always seen with his dog, Oreo, by his side no matter where he went. His favorite pastimes were tinkering with the many projects he had going in the yard or his barn, fishing any time he had the chance and being a Papaw. Since his granddaughter, Mattie, came into his life, she has been the center of his world. He spent many of his retired days hanging out with his daughter and granddaughter, cherishing every moment he could with them. He and his wife, Kara, had many adventures and made so many unforgettable memories that will be cherished forever.

He will be missed by so many people. He treated his friends as family and would do anything for anyone at any time. He never met a stranger and always had a kind word to say to anyone he came across. He loved talking about the Lord and invited almost everyone he met to come to church. He was a true servant of God and is in Heaven now, walking side by side with Jesus.

Those left to mourn the loss of Dean and cherish wonderful memories are his loving wife of 14 years, Kara Driggers; parents, Curtis and Fran Driggers of Rockingham; daughter, Callie Driggers of Concord; his granddaughter, whom he adored, Mattie Driggers; brother, Brian Driggers, his wife, Angie, and their son, Ian of Seven Lakes, NC; brother, Devin Driggers, his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Logan, Landon, Whitney, and Brennan of Denton, NC; mother-in-law Diana Carpenter, of Racine Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 2628 Shady Lane Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083, or Samaritan's Purse PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, or a law enforcement charity of your choice in his name.
