Richfield

Cynthia "Cyndi" Lynn Sherer Sloan, 58, of Richfield, NC, passed away on July 16, 2025, at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle, NC.

Born on February 23, 1967, in Lexington, Kentucky, Cyndi was the daughter of the late Marion McKinney Sherer and Reginald Crutcher. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ryan Thomas Lee Sloan, whose memory she carried with her always.

She was raised by her devoted mother and stepfather, Fred Sherer, and grew up with a strong sense of family that remained central throughout her life.

A graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, Cyndi went on to work as a cook at the University of Kentucky, where she took great pride in her work and built lasting friendships. Later in life, she fully embraced her nickname, "Cyndi," and found immense joy in her most treasured title-"Memaw."

Cyndi was a woman who cherished life's simple pleasures. She found happiness in gardening, experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, and curling up with a good show on Netflix. Whether playing games on her phone or spending time with her grandchildren, Cyndi's love for family was the constant thread that wove her life together.

She is survived by her daughters, Tiffany Sloan of Lexington, KY, and Torri Wilson of Riverview, FL; sons-in-law, Chase Wilson and Aaron Rantz of Riverview, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Trinity Grace Sloan, Viaira Faith Sloan, Isabella Hope Sloan, Ryatt Thomas Wilson and Rylee Mae Rantz; her siblings, Marie Sherer McGrady and husband, Jerry, of China Grove, Donald Ray Sherer of Kannapolis, and David Crutcher of Lexington, KY; and her longtime companion, Willie Wilson; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cyndi's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warmth, her laughter, and her deep love for those closest to her will never be forgotten.

Wilkinson Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sloan family.
