David Summers Snyder

Mr. David Summers Snyder passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

David’s funeral will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday at Parkwood Baptist officiated by Rev. Michael Waters. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 PM Sunday in the church sanctuary. The burial will be private.

David was born November 20, 1941 in Concord to the late Raymond D. Snyder and Louise Fisher Snyder. He graduated from Concord High School Class of 1960 and later from Wake Forest University Class of 1964. David owned and operated Snyder Packaging Company. In his spare time, David was an avid bass fisherman, golfer, and marathon runner. He was an active member of Parkwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school for 46 years, and other capacities.

David is survived by his wife June Penninger Snyder; son W. David Snyder and wife Stephanie; daughters Cynthia Cates and husband Rick, and Jennifer Flowers and husband David; grandchildren Cody Snyder, Snyder Griffin, and wife Alanna, Matthew Griffin and wife Hannah, Madison Esguerra and husband Nathaniel, Sophia Snyder, Isabella Snyder, Grace Rice and husband Kelby, Lilly Cates, and Katie Young and husband Michael; great grandchildren Oliver Esguerra, McKenna Young, and Levi Griffin; sister Anne Fogleman and husband Herschel; feline companion Muffy; and other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Children’s Ministry, 1069 Central Dr. NW, Concord, NC 28027.
