Deborah Lynn Dulin

Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Flowers Dulin, 71, of Concord, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, surrounded by the love of her family.

A funeral service celebrating Debbie's life will be held Saturday August 29, 2026 at 1pm in the Chapel of  Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12-1pm.

Debbie was born February 19, 1955, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Mildred Lynn Gantt Flowers the late James Garland Flowers, Jr. Debbie was also preceded in death by her stillborn son, Donald William Thompson, Jr.; and her brothers, Butch Flowers, Wayne Flowers, and Dean Flowers; cats, Romeo and Shadow.

Throughout her working years, Debbie spent much of her career in customer service, including more than ten years with Goodwill. She had a natural way with people, but there was nothing in her life that meant more to her than her family.

Her children and grandchildren were truly her whole world. Debbie loved watching her grandchildren play softball, baseball, and whatever sport they happened to be involved in. When she could not be there in person, she found a way to watch from home, even embracing technology and following games on her iPad. She wasn't simply watching, either - Debbie followed every play and was never shy about having an opinion on a call! Her family knew that whether she was sitting in the stands or watching from afar, Grandma was always cheering them on.

Debbie also had an incredible love for animals and seemed to have a special connection with them. Her family affectionately considered her something of an "animal whisperer," as animals of all kinds seemed naturally drawn to her. Cats held an especially important place in her heart, including her beloved Lena and those who went before her, Romeo and Shadow. Her love for Shadow was perhaps one of the best examples of Debbie's heart - when he needed a home, Grandma took him in and loved him for nearly eighteen years.

More than anything, Debbie will be remembered for how deeply she loved her family. Being part of their lives, keeping up with what everyone was doing, and simply spending time with the people she loved brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Fechtner and husband Donald of Concord and Bonnie Salter of Concord; grandchildren, Cody Honeycutt, Braden Honeycutt, Haylee Salter, Kylah Shifflett, Emma Salter, and Derek Fechtner; brother, Jeff Flowers and Elaine of Charlotte; her beloved cat, Lena; as well as extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Debbie's family will remember a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest happiness was found in the people - and animals - she loved.
