Dianna Lynn Blanton

Dianna Lynn Player Blanton, age 75, of Concord, known as Sue to family and friends, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 28, 2026. She passed away at home, under the care of Hospice, surrounded by her family.

Sue was born in Scotland County on September 17, 1950, a daughter of the late Archie Lee Player and Rachel Chandler Player. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She also loved going to the beach.

She was a longtime member of Parkwood Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed teaching children about God's love.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie Lee Player Jr (Bo), Claude Lavern Player (Vern), and a sister, Mary Player Overby.

She is survived by her husband Charles, daughter Amy Queen (Chad) of Concord, son Randy Blanton (Samantha) of Rockwell, and six grandchildren, Cody Queen, Caitlyn Queen, Jordan Eagle, Bryson Blanton, Raelynn Blanton, and Maecy Blanton.

She is also survived by two sisters, Peggy (Olin) Leonard of Lexington, NC, and Phyllis (David) Scarboro of Rockingham.
