Donald Keith Howard

Mr. Donald Keith Howard, 88, of Concord, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Amata Estates in Harrisburg after a courageous three-year journey with vascular dementia.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, where he was a devoted lifelong member. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Wes Judy will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Born on November 20, 1936, in Kannapolis, Donald was the son of the late Jessie Winecoff Howard and Sylvester Howard. He proudly spent 39 years employed with Edgcomb Metals in Charlotte, where he was a trusted and hardworking team member. Donald's life was marked by a deep love for his family and a passion for simple joys. He cherished time spent outdoors, whether tending to his yard or tinkering with cars-always known for his "Mr. Fix-it" skills. His heart belonged to his family and his church, and he found great joy in collecting and in the fellowship of Forest Hill UMC.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie Goodman Howard, who passed away in September 2021.Left to treasure his memory are his daughters, Lisa Howard and Lori Myers (husband Kirk), both of Concord; his sister, Dianne Moose of Concord; grandchildren, Courtney Miles (Todd), Dylan Drye (Kameryn), Sarah Myers (fiancé Jonathan Davis), and Isaac Myers; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Weston, and Ryland Miles, and Ellie Drye.

Pallbearers will include Kirk Myers, Dylan Drye, Isaac Myers, Todd Miles, Jonathan Davis, and Chris Cunningham.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to VIA Health Partners, 7845 Little Ave., Charlotte, NC 28226 or Samaritan's Purse (samaritanspurse.org) in honor of Donald's giving spirit and faith-filled life.
