Doris McLaurin Tucker

Mrs. Doris McLaurin Tucker, 98, of Concord, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Bethany Woods, surrounded by the love and presence of her devoted family.

A Celebration of Homegoing will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Posey. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Concord on May 2, 1927, Doris was the daughter of the late Katie McIntyre McLaurin and Raymond McLaurin. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Tucker; her sisters, Pauline "Polly" Oaks, Faye Mathis, Ruth Stearnes, and Joyce McLaurin; and her brothers, Lloyd McLaurin and Bobby McLaurin.

Doris lived a life of deep faith and joyful service. A longtime, faithful member of Victory Temple, she served in many roles throughout the years, but was especially known for her dedication as a Sunday School teacher. Her strong faith and quiet strength made a lasting impact on generations within her church family.

She was also a respected businesswoman, owning and operating Wilshire Beauty Shop for more than 12 years. In that role, she not only styled hair but built heartfelt, lifelong friendships-offering kindness, encouragement, and laughter to those who sat in her chair.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Reba Wilkinson and husband, Harold Wilkinson of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Mary Sisk of Shelby; five grandchildren, Gina Walker, Tim Wilkinson, Steve Wilkinson, Angela Rubatto, and Harold Wilkinson, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Doris will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her warm hospitality, her gift for teaching, and the unconditional love she poured into her family and community.
