Eloise Schiavone Ennis, a cherished presence in the Concord and Mooresville communities, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to honor and remember Eloise's life will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by Father Glenn Parker. Words on her life will be shared by her son-in-law, Ralph Henderson, and her sister, Brenda Schiavone. The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00 pm, on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the funeral home.
Eloise was born on July 31, 1939, in Holley, N.Y., to the late Julia Tiberio Schiavone and Alfred Schiavone. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard (Dick) Ennis; her son, William "Billy" Ennis; her sister, Marlene Petty; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eloise's impact on people came with an early career in cosmetology, her many years in real estate, and her volunteer work. She found joy in nurturing her flowers, cultivating beauty in her surroundings. Her passion for cooking brought loved ones together for meals, and her generosity in sharing with neighbors and friends gave her great joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Henderson, and her husband, Ralph, of Concord; her beloved grand dog, "Izzy". She leaves behind her sister, Brenda Schiavone, of Tomball, Texas; her brother, Wayne Schiavone, and his wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Eloise's honor. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 550, Charlotte, NC 28210; Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute, 1021 Morehead Medical Dr., Charlotte, NC 28204; or FeedNC, 2456 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28117. These contributions will honor Eloise's memory and support causes close to her heart.
As we remember Eloise, we honor her legacy of dedication, warmth, and love. May her spirit find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
