CONCORD- Faye Delores French Ball, 89, went to be with her Lord on June 8, 2026. She died peacefully in her sleep in her little room by the rose garden at St. Andrews Living Center.

A graveside service will be held at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton, WV. Date and time of service will be revealed soon.

Faye was the younger of two children born to James Alexander and Edna Mae Caperton French. She was born on September 3, 1936 in Welch, WV.  She moved to Wyoming County in 1949 where graduated from Mullens High School in 1954. In August of 1962, Faye married the love of her life, John Alfred Ball Jr. Their marriage of 44 years was blessed with two children. She worked for Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company for eleven years before dedicating herself fully to her home and family as a homemaker. Faye and her husband were members of Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Mullens where she served as church treasurer for fifteen years. She also taught Sunday School for several years and sang in the church choir. Faye was an avid reader, a gardener, and she loved pretty flowers. She was known as a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for family and friends. She especially enjoyed going on long walks with her best friend, Nancy Musser. Some of her happiest moments were spent playing cards and games with the people she loved most.

In addition to her husband and parents, Faye was preceded in death by her son, John A. Ball III; daughter-in-law, Melissa Simmons Ball; granddaughter, Allyson Ball; and brother, Charles Donald “Don” French.

Mrs. Ball is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Susan Williams (Jeff) of Harrisburg, NC and grandsons, John Ball IV (Victoria), Zachary Ball (Drai Salmon), and Noah Williams.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Andrews Living Center and VIA Hospice for their compassion and care throughout Faye’s final days.
