Gail Elaine Porter Bost

Gail Elaine Porter Bost, 74, of Midland, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Novant Health Huntersville in Huntersville, NC, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service to celebrate Gail's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the Wilkinson Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Jim Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

Born on April 20, 1951, in Cabarrus County, Gail was the daughter of the late James Clyde Porter and Jewell Honeycutt Porter. Gail was also preceded in death by her sister Maxine Furr (Jerry).

She spent many years working in the public school system, first as a dedicated assistant teacher and later as a data manager at Wolf Meadow Elementary School. She found great fulfillment in her work and touched the lives of many students and colleagues throughout her career. Gail was a strong and independent woman who faced life's challenges with resilience and determination. She battled illness for the past two years with unwavering courage. Despite her health struggles, she maintained a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She had a love for ordering things and enjoyed the comforting ambiance of candles. Gail also found solace and beauty in flowers and gardening. She was an avid shopper on QVC and HSN, always on the lookout for the perfect find.

She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Grady of Concord, and Jeffery Bost (Wendy) of Concord. She will be dearly missed by her cherished grandchildren, Destiny, Tyler, Brianna, and Layla; 4 nephews; very close friends of the family, Lance.
