Virginia “Gail” Eagle Brooks

Mrs. Virginia “Gail” Eagle Brooks, 82, of Concord, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Gary Royals. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am-12:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.

Gail was born June 15, 1943, in Concord, North Carolina, to the late Carl Hales Eagle, Jr. and Geraldeen Allman Eagle. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob” Jackson Brooks, Sr.; sister, Brenda Gilmore; her granddaughter, Faith Brooks; and great-grandchildren, Jude Thomas and Kinsley Cook.

She attended Mt. Pleasant High School and devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. Gail had a deep love for the life she built around her family, finding her greatest joy in simply being together. Whether gathered around the kitchen table, relaxing at home, or sharing laughter during holidays and everyday moments, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved reading, bird watching, and listening to music, and she especially enjoyed time at the beach where many of her favorite memories were made. Those trips—filled with conversation, laughter, and togetherness—were a reflection of what mattered most to her: family, faith, love, and creating lasting memories.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robin Brooks Davis and husband Alan of Concord, Jennifer Brooks Cook and husband Glenn of Concord, Robert Jackson Brooks, Jr. and wife DaNeil of Concord, and Lori Denise Brooks of Concord.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Carrie Pollock (Danny), Brian Davis, Brooke Gardner, Taylor Gardner (Erica), Lora Thomas (Kyle), Samantha Taylor, Jeremy Cook (Wendy), Braden Cook (Jessica), and Jasmin St. John (Corey).

Her great-grandchildren include Jaxon Gardner, Lola Gardner, Levi Thomas, Ezra Thomas, Skylar Spillman (Seth), Jasmin Rodriguez (Jonathan), Allison Cook, Macy Cook, Marlee Cook, and Ayden St. John.

She is further survived by her great-great-grandchildren, Sully Spillman, Jacelynn Rodriguez, and Jayla Rodriguez.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus, as well Althelia and the other wonderful caregivers at Home Instead for the compassion and support shown to Gail and her family during this time.
