James Harry Potts Jr.

Mr. James Harry "Jim" Potts, Jr. age 65 of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

The family will be at Wilkinson Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11th from 12-3 pm to greet family and friends.

Jim was born September 30, 1960 in East Liverpool, Ohio and was the son of James Harry Potts, Sr. and Bobbie Sue Ray Potts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Clifford Potts and Olive Potts.

Jim was previously employed with Concord Printing. He loved listening to music, and being outdoors, whether it was camping with family, playing sports with his grandkids or cracking jokes. He was a true family man, always putting his wife, children, and grandchildren first. His love, and humor will forever be missed.

Those left to cherish Jim's memory is his loving wife, Cheryl Drummond Potts; daughter, Bobbie and Mike Biles of Rockwell NC, son, James III and Becky Potts of Kannapolis NC, and daughter, Deann and Donald Miles of Troy NC; his 8 grandchildren, Richard Pope III, Leann Ketchie, Kayla Pope, James Potts IV, Alexis Miles, Autumn Miles, Brandon Miles, and Bentley Miles; 6 great-grandchildren.
