Born on November 27, 1937, in Bay Springs, Mississippi, Jim was the son of the late Irene Grisham Price and Darrow E. Price. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Price, and his granddaughter, Heather Price.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University, an achievement that remained a great source of pride throughout his life. His career as a plant engineer in the textile industry carried him across the world, where he taught textile manufacturing in more than 15 countries. He was admired as a skilled, dedicated, and respected professional who shared his knowledge generously.
At home, Jim was a devoted husband to Willene Edwards Price, with whom he shared a loving and faithful marriage of 64 years. He was deeply involved in his church community, serving as both a deacon and committee treasurer at First Baptist Church, always ready to lend his time and talents in service to others.
Jim's life was also marked by quiet joys and the things that brought him happiness-playing golf, cooking, enjoying sports cars, card games, and lending his skilled hands as a handyman to improve the homes of family and friends. Those closest to him will remember his unselfish spirit, calm presence, and steady devotion to his faith, his family, and his community.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Willene E. Price; his children, Cary F. Price and wife Ileanne of Fayetteville, GA, Barry E.
