Ike Shoe

Mr. James Ikey "Ike" Shoe, age 76 of Concord passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Rockwell Park Health and Rehab in Charlotte, after a lengthy illness.

Ike, as he was known to family and friends, was born August 21, 1949 in Cabarrus County and was one of six children born to Herman Franklin and Evelyn Doris Smith Shoe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Avery Shoe and a sister, Doris Covington.

Ike graduated from Central Cabarrus High School and had a career in the insurance industry. The last few years he spent at Rockwell were very special as he met lots of friends who really cared about him. Two friends were extremely close and loved him dearly. They helped take care of him towards the end of his journey. Vicky Adam, and Tonya Abraham (who he referred to as his adopted daughter).

Ike is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Burleson of Salisbury, Marie Eudy of Wilmington, and a brother, Chuck Shoe (Dianne) of Concord; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Per Ike's request, there will be no funeral services. He was entombed beside his mother at Carolina Memorial Park.

Rest peaceful, my brother, until we meet again.
