CONCORD- Janet “Jan” Wagner Ledbetter Hall, 84, passed away at her home on December 13, 2025.

A 2:00 pm Wednesday (December 17) funeral service will be held at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Mike Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. She will be entombed at Carolina Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Jan was born in Cabarrus County on July 9, 1941 to Eloise Wilkinson Waggoner and Dewey Kenneth Wagner. She attended Odell High School and at the age of 15 she married Larry L. Ledbetter. This marriage lasted from 1957 to April 1977 when Jan lost both her husband and her home to a house fire. Jan worked for many years as a beautician before retiring and beginning a new career in the cafeteria of A.T Allen Elementary School. Jan was once active at Harmony United Methodist Church where she proudly led the United Methodist Women and baked countless pies and cakes for their sales and meals. Jan was an amazing cook. She was a talented baker and cake decorator. Her Italian Cream Cake was very popular. Jan’s biggest source of pride was her family. She immensely loved being a grandmother and keeping the grandbabies. Gammy’s involvement in their lives kept her youthful. She loved maintaining her house at Kure Beach. She cherished incorporating beach time with family time. She was the solid dependable glue that held the family together.

Mrs. Hall is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Larry L. Ledbetter; her second husband, Richard McCurdy Hall; daughters, Deborah “Cookie” Gatter and LaVerna Threatt Smith; her in-laws, Paustal and Katherine Ledbetter; and beloved dogs, Buffy and Zeus.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter, Susan L Bennick (Keith) of Matthews; grandchildren, Brandi Bryce (Steven), Candi T. Brown (Gary), David Threatt (Lilly), Amanda S. Cofer (Joe), Christopher Ledbetter, Michael Smith (Christa), Misty Bost and Nathan Bost.; and 14 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, 2010 Wilshire Court Southwest, Concord, North Carolina 28025.
