Mrs. Julie Poplin Day passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Julie was born March 18, 1957 in Concord to the late Dillard G. Poplin and Mary Ann Barr Poplin. She was also preceded in death by husband Bobby Day.

Julie is survived by sister Lou Ann P. Irvin (Tommy); brothers Mark Poplin (Nancy) and Steve Poplin (Marybeth); niece Traci Burden (Jerry); nephews Ben Allen (Victoria), Derek Irvin (Sara), Greer Poplin (Hailey), Arron Poplin, Daniel Poplin (Katana); great nieces Madison Burden, Sarah Burden, Vivian Allen; great nephews Noah Irvin, Greyson Irvin, Beckham Allen; her cat Leroy; as well numerous cousins and other extended family.

Julie's passion was being a Registered Nurse and she was employed by Presbyterian Hospital early in life. She was a highly regarded RN who was respected by everyone she encountered. Julie was an avid baker who took great pleasure in making homemade treats for those she loved. After her nursing career ended, Julie enjoyed spending time surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors. She cherished attending family gatherings for birthdays, holidays, or any other occasion that she could dote on her loved ones. Julie was a member of McGill Baptist Church and attending regularly with her friends and neighbors.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 28th at McGill Baptist Church at 2pm officiated by Dr. Steven Ayers. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1pm.

In memory of Julie and her love for animals, the family wishes for donations to be made to Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County in lieu of flowers.
