June was born in Cabarrus County on April 8, 1927. Growing up in Concord she was one of seven siblings born to Samuel and Beulah Sherrill Cagle. She graduated from Concord High School in 1945. June then continued her studies at Evans Business College in Concord. Her first job was as secretary at Cannon Mills (later Fieldcrest Cannon) where she worked her way up to purchasing agent. She retired after 35 years. After retirement she volunteered at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in the gift shop for 20 years.
She married Frank W. Stinson on October 12, 1946 and they were married for 65 years until his death in 2012. During that time, she and Frank enjoyed many trips to Disney World with her sister Catherine and brother-in-law Charlie over the years. They also made several cross-country trips. In addition to traveling, they had a condominium at Myrtle Beach where they enjoyed going to shows, eating out, and visiting with friends and family.
June is survived by her brother Bob Cagle and wife Ann of Burgaw, N.C., nephew Stephen Cagle, nieces Kim Bienvenu, Laurie Cagle, and Donna Lamont, and other extended family members.
She deeply loved her church family at Saint James Church and all of her wonderful neighbors and friends who visited her faithfully. Thank you to all of the staff for their excellent care at Morningside of Concord where she resided for the past two and one-half years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint James Church, P. O. Box 447, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.
