Karen Aileen Morrow

April 13, 1946 — November 11, 2025

Concord

Karen Aileen Oriold Morrow, age 79, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church in Concord, with Father Glenn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at St. James Catholic Church, prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born on April 13, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Karen was the cherished daughter of the late Josephine (Wharton) Oriold and John Oriold. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Oriold.

She grew up in Middletown, PA, where her graceful spirit and determination shone early through her love of dance and membership in the Hershey Ice Skating Club. Karen carried that same grace and discipline into her professional life, earning her Associate's degree and dedicating her career to serving others as a secretary with Franciscan Health Systems, IMA Consulting, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Karen found her greatest joy in her marriage to David E. Morrow, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, faith, and fond traditions-none more treasured than their annual trips to Disney World.

A woman of strong faith and kind heart, Karen devoted over 15 years to teaching fourth-grade Faith Formation at St. James Catholic Church in Concord. Her students adored her for her patience, humor, and joyful spirit. She also delighted in life's simple pleasures-building with Legos, cheering for her favorite NASCAR drivers (Bill Elliott, Kasey Kahne, and Chase Elliott), and spending time with her family and friends.

Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of many years, David E. Morrow; her children, Jennifer Smith (and husband, Dan) of Watsontown, PA, and David P. Morrow of Thorndale, PA; and her beloved granddaughter, Corrine Constantine of Malvern, PA, a number of cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church- Faith Formation, 139 Manor Ave SW, Concord, NC 28025, in honor of Karen's enduring devotion to her faith, her students, and her church community.

Karen's kindness, compassion, and joy will continue to shine through all those who were blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her steadfast love, her playful spirit, and her beautiful faith.
