Kenneth Allen

Mr. Kenneth "Ken" O'Neal Allen, 86, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at West Concord Cemetery, officiated by Caleb Mann.

Born January 4, 1939, in Concord, he was the son of the late Elmer O'Neal Allen and Mary Elizabeth Yates Allen. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcella Henry Allen; grandson, Matthew Allen.

Ken was a proud graduate of Hartsell High School, Class of 1958. He spent over 45 years as a dedicated truck driver, working with McLean Trucking, Terminal Transport, and Morrison Brothers. He found great pride in his work and was known by many friends and coworkers simply as "K.O."

Outside of work, Ken was an avid Carolina Tar Heels fan and rarely missed a basketball or football game-often choosing to enjoy them on the radio. He loved professional wrestling, spending time outdoors, and, above all else, he loved his family. Ken's deep devotion to his wife, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident to all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his sons, Gary Allen, Jeff Allen, and Bobby Allen; grandson, Andrew Allen; great-grandsons, Jaden Allen and Bryson Allen; sister, Carolyn Allen Kinley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081, in honor of the exceptional care they provided to Ken and his family.
