Lewis Thomas

Mr. Lewis B. Thomas, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Central United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Carol Clarkin. The family will receive friends following the service in the Coltrane Memorial Room. Burial will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Sharon Memorial Park.

Lewis was born on February 16, 1931 in Mecklenburg Co. to the late William Joseph Thomas, Sr. and Lona Edwards Thomas. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Cochrane; brothers, Boyce Thomas and William J. Thomas, Jr.

Lewis was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in France and Germany. He was a former member of Kilgo UMC in Charlotte prior to moving to Concord in 1994 and joining Central UMC. While living in Charlotte, Lewis was a member of the Jaycees. He started his automobile career as a salesman with City Chevrolet in Charlotte and worked his way up to General Manager of Darrell Waltrip Honda in Franklin, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Poole Thomas; son, David Thomas and wife, Tami; brother, Herman Thomas; granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Thomas and fiancé Duane.
