Lynda Burris Howington, 47, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 24, 1978, in Cabarrus County, NC, to Jean H. Hood and the late Stewart W. Burris.

Lynda attended Northwest Cabarrus High School. She later attended Guilford Technical Community College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Office Administration and a Certificate of Pharmacy Technology. She is leaving behind a dedicated work family at White Oak Manor of Burlington that she was a part of for over 9 years.

Lynda loved her family and her grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed spending every opportunity with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending Saturday mornings going to yard sales and the flea market. Her family has fond memories of their many trips to the beach and various other vacations. She especially enjoyed trying to visit every lighthouse along the east coast.

Lynda is survived by her mother, Jean H. Hood; children, Brittanie L. Simpson and husband Blake, Daniel E. Burris and wife Andrea, Adam T. Leonard, and Christopher W. Leonard and Fiancé Ashley; stepchildren, Angel Howington and Steven Howington Jr.; grandchildren, Jahkob, Riley, Waylon, and Kimberly; siblings; Jeff W. Burris and wife Jennifer, Kevin R. Burris and wife Amelia, Kristi L. Singleton; many nieces and nephews; significant other, Robert (Bobby) Adair, and his daughter Lily. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald (Ronnie) W. Burris.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jennifer Atlas, MD, Sara, and staff at Levine Cancer Institute for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Lynda's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Levine Cancer Institute or the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster.
