Mrs. Margaret Barnhardt Mullis passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, August 15th at Kerr Memorial Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Alan Freeman. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 o'clock.
Margaret was born October 17,1930 in Concord to the late Floyd Frederick Barnhardt and Carrie Bell Furr Barnhardt. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harold Glenn Mullis Sr., her son Harold "Chip" Mullis, Jr., brother Floyd Barnhardt, and sister Leona Barnhardt Verble.
After graduating from Concord High School, Margaret began a career in banking, retiring from First Charter as manager of the savings department. She was a longtime faithful member of Kerr Street Baptist Church and later Kerr Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the adult choir and helped serve in other roles.
Following her retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling to the beach with her family and granddaughters. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. She was a regular at Bojangles and Troutman's BBQ up until her passing.
Margaret is survived by granddaughters Amanda M. Ross and husband Scott, and Hannah M. Lindsey and husband Scott; great grandchildren Annah Lindsey, Ella Ross, Cole Ross, Stella Lindsey, Eli Ross and River Lindsey; daughter-in-law Jennie Mullis. And many beloved nieces, nephews and special friends.
She will be remembered for her faithful and unconditional love, her fiercely devoted heart and her determination to make sure things were done her way.
