Mrs. Marlene Absher Harrington of Salisbury, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 14, 2026 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday February 19, 2026 at the Chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Randall Ritchie. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Marlene was born November 15, 1948 in Concord to the late Howard Bynum Absher and Flossie Gambill Absher. She was proceeded in death by her daughter-in-law, Amy Harrington. She was a proud member of the graduating class of 1967 at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis. She also attended Evan’s Business College, and later retired from Atrium Health Cabarrus Pharmacy.
She was the heart of her family, a woman whose love was constant, steady, and unconditional. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by the people she cared about most, sharing stories, laughter, and simple moments together. The beach was her special place, where she felt calm and at peace, listening to the waves and soaking in the sunshine. She had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and deep devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 54 years Eddie Dean Harrington; children Deana H. Gatton and husband Michael, and Todd A. Harrington ; grandchildren Gracie and Allie Gatton, and Alexis and Charlee Harrington; and many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
