Martha Anne Cress Fridlund

Mrs. Martha Anne Cress Fridlund passed away peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Andrews Living Center.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday May 17th, 1:00 PM at St. James Lutheran Church to be officiated by Rev. William Ridenhour. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Martha Anne was born January 25, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Grover Morrison Cress and Alice Quick Cress. She was also preceded in death by husband Stanley John Fridlund, granddaughter Ashlyn Davis, and brother Grover M. Cress, Jr. Martha Anne graduated from Concord High School Class of 1955, and from Lees-McRae College with a degree in radiology technology.

Martha Anne married the love of her life in 1958 and became an Army wife, a life she loved. She loved staying at home raising her family for many years and then found an additional family at Charlotte Radiology where she worked for over 30 years. She loved to read, spend time at the beach and mostly, she loved being with her five daughters and their families.

Martha Anne is survived by daughters Debbie F. Davis (Robert), Tammy F. Drake, Melanie F. Elliott (Gary), Alison F. Monk all of Concord, and Kirsten F. Ziegler (Nathan) of Denver, NC; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and a number of extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or LUNGSTRONG.
