It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Isabelle Goettl, who departed this life on April 15, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 12, 1935, Mary Isabelle lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She was proud to have raised four boys and proud of the four boys she raised.
After graduating from Loyola High School in Mankato, MN, Mary Isabelle worked at the Jolly Green Giant in Le Sueur, MN. She also worked as a bank teller for many years. When she moved to Charlotte, NC, she became involved at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and spent over 20 years as their sacristan.
Mary Isabelle liked to play golf, tennis and Bridge. She also entertained family and friends with her guitar around the campfire. She touched the hearts of many in her community and will be remembered for her warm spirit and kindness.
Mary Isabelle is survived by her four beloved sons-Kevin (Della), Barry (Pamela), Brian (Angela) and Shawn (Mary) along with nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren-who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family and friends, all of whom were fortunate to have shared in her life. Mary Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Goettl, and her parents Floyd and Margaret Kallberg, and her sister Margaret Braff.
