Michael D. Drye

KANNAPOLIS- Michael Douglas Drye, 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Atrium Cabarrus on September 22, 2025 following a brief illness.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel.

Michael was born in Cabarrus County on July 5, 1971. He had carpentry skills and was a talented semi pro softball player.  In addition to being a carpenter he worked part-time for Davie Tree Company.  He enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach and loved his family, especially being "Paw Paw Mike" to Riley. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Drye.

Mr. Drye leaves behind his children, Jared Taylor Drye(Marysa) of Concord, Logan Chandler Drye of Concord, and Bryleigh Spencer Hough of Concord; mother, Janice Linker Evans of Kannapolis; brother, Paul Eugene Drye; stepfather, Al Evans(Lucy) of Salisbury; step brothers, Brian Evans of Florida and Jason Evans of Concord; and his beloved grandson, Riley Stetson Drye of Concord.
