Nancy Geraldine Widenhouse

Nancy Geraldine Rimer Widenhouse, 89, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, in the Chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Josiah McMurphy. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born July 18, 1936, in Cabarrus County, Nancy was the daughter of the late Clyde Washington Rimer and the late Ivoyyne T. Manus Rimer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wayne Widenhouse; sister, Theresa McDowell.

Nancy devoted much of her life to education. She served as a middle school teacher in the public school system and earned her Master's Degree, reflecting her deep belief in learning and growth. Generations of students were impacted by her steady guidance, thoughtful instruction, and quiet dedication to her work.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Flynn; her son, Jeffrey Todd Widenhouse; and her cherished grandchildren, Michael Cook (Brittany), Flay Flynn, Jr., Amber Widenhouse, Todd Widenhouse (Ellen), Brian Widenhouse, and Gunnar Widenhouse; great grand children Cassidy, Kinsley, Koa, and Jayden. She is also survived by extended family members and friends who will remember her with love and gratitude.
