Pat Green

Patsy (Pat) Ann Porter Green, 84, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital, surrounded by family.

The family will receive friends at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord on Monday, March 2, from 12:00 - 1:45 with a service to follow at 2:00 pm in the Wilkinson Chapel. The service will be officiated by Pastor Michael Smith of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park.

Pat was born in Matthews, NC to her late parents Charles Neal and Lois Pearl Orr Porter. She was the youngest of 7 siblings who all predeceased her; brothers, Neal (wife Zelma), J.C (wife Mamie), Paul (wife Lucille), Donald (wife Virginia), Wayne Porter and sister, Helen Godwin (husband Johnny). Also predeceased was the love of her life, her husband Fred "Gene" Green (Gino) of Concord, her loving son Jeffrey Todd Green of Locust, and her loving grandson-in-law, Randy Sumrow.

Pat was raised in Mint Hill, NC and attended East Mecklenburg High School. After high school she moved to Charlotte, NC where she lived for many years. She met "Gino" and they married in 1976 and moved to Concord where she begin to work in the medical field. She always had a passion for the elderly, helping them at church, taking them to appointments or anything they needed. She worked in a couple of nursing homes in Concord pursuing her passion. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling to different churches to see friends. Dad was invited to preach occasionally and Mom loved supporting him. They loved being around people and it was never a surprise when they would tell us they were going somewhere to see or help someone. Mom retired in 2009 as a medical assistant to Dr. James Kirk, podiatrist Concord, giving them time to keep their grandson, Jayden, and to continue to do what they loved.

Survivors include daughters, Tammy (Bill) Brafford of Concord, Renee Green Barfield of Mooresville, daughter-in-law, Lori Hall Green of Eden, NC. She has 7 grandchildren, Joel (Christine) Brafford, and Chris Brafford of Concord, Heather Sumrow of Mooresville, Ashley Green Summerlin of Mt. Pleasant, Chelsea Green of Oakboro, Gavin (Amber) of Stoneville, NC and Jacob (Hayley) Pierce of Medina OH; 11 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brantley, Emma, Banx, Torrence, Ravyn, Emmanuel, Samuel, Luke, Nathaniel, Daniel, and expecting another boy in June. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that she was very close to and loved them dearly.

Mom loved her family and nothing made her happier than spending time with all of them. She was so excited and happy when they would call or come by for a visit. She loved going to see her grandchildren at their special events every time she had the chance and was their biggest cheerleader.

Mom had such a deep faith and trusted her Lord completely and even though she left us unexpectedly, we know she was welcomed in heaven with open arms. She was a special lady and was loved by all who met her. She will be missed dearly.
