Concord

Mrs. Patricia "Pattie" Joan Russ Williams, 70, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Pattie's life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Joey Spry. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born on August 2, 1955, in Charlotte, Pattie was the daughter of the late Juanita Honeycutt Russ and the late Walter Edney Russ. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Wayne Williams; her brother, Richard Michael "Mike" Russ; and her sister, Linda Russ Holder.

Pattie was a 1973 graduate of Concord High School and dedicated many years of service to Collins & Aikman (Mastercraft) before later working with Trans Union Settlement Solutions.

While Pattie enjoyed her work, her greatest joy was always found at home with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life revolved around those she loved. Family gatherings, treasured traditions, and the laughter of her grandchildren filled her heart. Nothing brought her greater happiness than watching her family grow and spending time together.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Pattie found strength and peace in reading her Bible, listening to worship music, and trusting God's plan throughout every season of life. Her quiet faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Pattie also had an incredible gift for creating with her hands. She loved crocheting and was rarely found sitting still without a project nearby. Whether making blankets, baby bonnets, gifts for loved ones, or handmade items for cancer patients and those in need, she poured love into every stitch. Her home was always a place of love, her hands were always busy serving others, and her heart was always centered on God and her family.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her compassion, her resilience through life's many challenges, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Even after facing multiple battles with cancer, Pattie continued to place others before herself, always offering encouragement, warmth, and a comforting presence. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched through her generosity, steadfast faith, and unwavering love.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joshua Williams of Concord; daughters, Stephanie Hill and husband David of Mooresville, Stacy Norris and husband Keith of Concord, and Cassie Rodriguez and husband Daniel of Randleman; grandchildren, Katelyn Hill, Skylar Hill, Miranda Crayton, Megan Norris, Brionna Norris, Derek Cogdill, Claire McTier, Lance Rodriguez, and Leon Rodriguez; great-granddaughter, Alivia Crayton; beloved cat, Theo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and the Internal Progressive Unit and Oncology staff at Atrium Health Cabarrus for the exceptional kindness, comfort, and care shown to Pattie and her family during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine Cancer Institute in honor of Pattie's courageous journey and in appreciation of the compassionate care she received.

Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of her faith, knowing she has been welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior and joyfully reunited with her beloved John, her parents, and those who went before her. The love she gave, the faith she lived, and the traditions she nurtured will continue to guide and comfort her family for generations to come.
