Paula Sherrill

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paula Jean Hill Sherrill, who left us peacefully on Good Friday April 18, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Born on October 7, 1962, to the late Dorothy and John Hill. She will be laid to rest beside her husband of 36 years, Lewis "Lew" Sherill.

Paula spent her life in Cabarrus County where she was known as a beloved member of her community. Paula was an active member of Rocky River Church, sharing the spirit of the lord with her musical gifts. Paula loved her church family and always looked forward to a Sunday worship service, her voice leaving a powerful impact. Paula worked as an RN in a community of nurses who strove to provide excellent care and compassion for their patients. In addition, Paula helped mentor and provide educational training in her field amongst many volunteer projects to better the community. Paula leaves behind a team of medical professionals who cherish her and speak her name fondly.

Paula will be remembered by her determined spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her passion for music and worship. Paula also enjoyed beach vacations to Cherry Grove, SC with her family surrounded by the beauty of the ocean and sand. As a devoted fan of UNC Chapel Hill basketball and football Paula celebrated every victory with enthusiasm. In the spirit of competition, Paula loved to say the only Duke we endorse in the family is Dukes' mayonnaise. Paula had many joys in her life, her legacy will remain in the hearts of all she came across, and through her son Joshua who she loved deeply.

She is survived by her son; Josh Sherrill and wife Hunter; her brother Randall Hill and wife Sylvia; niece Lauren Hill; her brother Mark Hill; many cousins and cherished relatives and her close friend Tori Call. Paula was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 2pm at Rocky River Church in Concord, NC officiated by Pastor Jimmy Britt. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2pm at Rocky River Church.
