Mr. Randy Hopkins Robbins passed away peacefully on May 12th 2026, surrounded by family at the VA W.G. Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Randy was born on April 6, 1955 in Anderson, SC to the late Eugene A. Robbins Jr. and Ruth Hopkins Robbins. He was a lifetime resident of Concord. He graduated from Concord High School in 1973. Randy lettered in 4 sports: football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. In 1977, he graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Science and was a member of the Phi-Sigma-Kappa fraternity. He was later awarded a master’s degree in Human Relations while serving in the Military. Immediately following college, Randy returned home to help his mother, Ruth Robbins, with the family Real Estate Business. In June 1978, he entered the US Marine Corp and Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Upon completion, he served proudly for 10 years leaving with the rank of Captain.

 Following military service, he returned to Concord and became a sales/business partner with DH Barnhart in Mt. Pleasant selling railroad equipment. He specialized in historical railroad cars for investors all over the world. For the past 15 years, he has developed and maintained a grove at Robbins Roost, which is the beloved home to him and Corinne even through illness.

 Surviving relatives are: His wife Corinne Mullinax Robbins, her son Taylor Barnes and wife Amy (Cagle) of Sanford, NC, brother and sister-in-law Skip Mullinax and wife Susie of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Cousins Jerry Hopkins and wife Nancy of Concord, NC, Rebecca Crews and husband Ron Crews of Fernandina Beach, FL. Uncle Randy’s special cousins are: Toby Hopkins and wife Elaine of Mooresville, NC (Jadon and Nate), Brian Hopkins and wife Kristine of Leland, NC, Jeff Hopkins and wife Laura of Clemson, SC (Lilly, Maisie, Beckett, and Annie), Julie Crews Barone and husband Pete of Fernandina Beach, FL (Emma and Davis), Melissa Crews Alward and husband Josh of Concord, NC (Lauren and Sarah), his extremely special and loved fur babies Charlie and Diesel, Piper and Louie. There are also many other cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.

 His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church in Concord, NC. This will be officiated by Rev. William Ridnehour. Burial with Military honors will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:30am Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
