Rhonda Mercer

Mrs. Rhonda Smith Mercer, age 59, passed away on March 27, 2026, at Hospice and Palliative Care in Kannapolis NC.

She was born on December 4, 1966 in Salisbury, NC, to the late Howard Smith and Sheila Williams. Rhonda is survived by her husband, Samuel Mercer Jr.; son, Curtis Cline, his wife, Jo and their children, Landon and Madison Cline; son, Brandon McIntosh, his companion, Heather Snow and their son, Brantley McIntosh; brothers, Dean Smith, Kenny Smith, Greg Morris and their families.

Rhonda was a deeply loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness knew no limits. She had a heart big enough to welcome anyone in need, and throughout her life, she opened her home and her arms to countless people, treating them like family. Her generosity and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a very spiritual woman who loved her church and her faith. Her beliefs guided the way she lived her life-with compassion, humility, and a desire to help others. She found strength and peace in her faith, and it was something she shared openly with those around her.

Rhonda was a devoted mother, to her sons, Curtis and Brandon. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Landon, Madison, and Brantley, who brought her endless joy and happiness. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Rhonda will be remembered for her selfless spirit, her strength, and the way she made people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the family she built, and the love she gave so freely.

A service to celebrate Rhonda's life will be held on Friday, April 3th at 1:00 pm at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church, 460 Crestmont Drive Concord NC 28025.
