Mr. Roger Dale Smith age 72 of Concord, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 6th at Wilkinson Funeral Home from 3:30 to 5pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 5pm and will be officiated by Gilbert Mann.

Roger was born August 28, 1952 in Cabarrus County, and was a son of the late Carl Franklin Smith and Betty Sue Barringer Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Lars Galyan and Randy Carter.

Roger served in the US Army where he was stationed in Korea. After his military service he worked for many years doing construction and sheet rock work. His love for horses, later led him into the field of showing and training Saddlebred horses.

Those who survive Roger and will miss him are his siblings; Delores Galyan, Debbie Carter, Shellie Kindley and husband, Allen, and Doug Mullins and wife, Misty; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to: Memorial Processing, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
