Ronald Scott Lemmond Sr

Ronald Scott Lemmond, Sr, 81, of Concord passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 18th at Royal Oaks United Methodist Church in Kannapolis, where he was a long time member. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Gilead Reformed Church cemetery. Rev Jon Wallace and Rev Chad Irons will officiate.

Ron was born on June 21, 1944 in Charlotte, NC to the late AW and Hilda Lemmond. He worked for Charlotte Mecklenburg School System in the Audio Visual Department. He was also preceded in death by his brother David Lemmond, daughter Rhonda Watson, son Ronald “Scott” Lemmond, Jr and grandson Robert Wensil.

He loved NASCAR and classic cars. He enjoyed going through antique stores and reminiscing of years gone by. He also loved camping trips and going to White Lake with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Joyner Lemmond “Shug”, son Chad Lemmond (Kathy) of Norwood, daughter Lindsey Lemmond Griffin (Stanley) of Concord, Granddaughter Jatana Moss (Robbie) of Indian Trail, Grandsons Avery Griffin and Conner Griffin, Great grandsons Evan Moss and Jacob Moss and his beloved puppy, Sugar.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Wilkinson Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Lemmond family.
