Scherine Lynne Jenkins

Scherine Barnett Jenkins, 58, passed away October 27, 2026 at home in Concord, NC after bravely battling cancer.

Scherine was born on May 6, 1968 in Stuttgart, Germany, and was raised in Concord, NC and has been a shining light and a fiercely protective and loving sister, wife, mother, daughter and friend to all fortunate to enough to have been in her life.

Her selfless love and loyalty will be a guide to those she has left behind. Husband, Stephen Jenkins; Siblings, Dede and Bill Kernochan, Mike and Jenny Cruise, Tina and Aaron Smith, Jason Barnett and Sherrie Morton. Her children, Tyshawn Morton and Kali Morton. Her granddaughter, Laylani Craig, Father, Dennis Barnett as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by sister, Amy Waggoner and mothers, Connie Barnett and Linda Underwood and partner, Kim Morton.

Scherine's life pursuit and greatest joy was her family and she worked tirelessly to support and love those that she held dear. To know Scherine was to know that you would always have another set of footprints as you walked through the sands of life.

A celebration of life will be held at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, NC on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 12pm.
