Sharon Humberger

Mrs. Sharon Moose Humberger, 87, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 561 Union Cemetery Road SW, Concord, NC 28027. A celebration of Sharon's life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joey Morrison officiating. The burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park.

Sharon was born on June 12, 1939, in Concord, North Carolina, to the late Guy and Pauline Moose. A proud lifelong resident of Concord, she graduated from Concord High School in 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Broome.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Ted Humberger; her children, Jil Brown and husband David, Jule Bodder and husband Joel, and Ted "Teddy" Humberger Jr. and wife Alison; her grandchildren, Eric Brown, Caleb Brown, Carlie Conklin, Claire Bodder, Russell Bodder, Julia Greene, Trace Humberger, and Mary Tess Humberger; her great-grandchildren, Carter Brown, Riley Conklin, Vivian Greene, and Anna Kate Greene; and many beloved extended family members, friends, and her church family.

As a young Army wife, Sharon proudly supported Ted throughout his military service, living in Virginia, Maryland, and Germany while raising their daughters. She later devoted many years to medical administration before earning her nursing degree from Rowan Technical Institute in 1990. Whether through her career, her church, or her home, caring for others was simply who she was.

A lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church, Sharon lived out her faith every day. She faithfully served the Lord, raised her family in the church, and quietly demonstrated Christ's love through kindness, generosity, and service to others.

Together, Sharon and Ted built a life centered on faith, family, and hospitality. Their garden "in the country" became a place where children and grandchildren gathered each summer, harvesting vegetables that Sharon and Ted lovingly shared with neighbors, shut-ins, and members of their church community. She believed that a shared meal, a helping hand, or a simple act of kindness could brighten someone's day.

To know Sharon was to know unconditional love. No one ever left her home hungry. Every grandchild knew where to find the candy drawer, looked forward to "just one sip" of Mountain Dew or Sundrop, and felt free to be exactly who they were at Memaw's house. She was also known as the "Candy Lady" at church, always ready with a peppermint or Tootsie Pop for every child she met.

Sharon loved reading, crossword puzzles, traveling with Ted, tending her garden, and celebrating Christmas with her family. She rarely missed a ball game, cherished every holiday together, and found her greatest joy in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.

She taught her family that life's greatest riches are not found in possessions, but in faith, family, and sharing what you have with others. Whether it was a homegrown tomato, a handwritten card, or a phone call ending with, "Do you need anything?", Sharon made everyone around her feel seen, cared for, and loved.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Sharon's legacy of unwavering faith, selfless service, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
