Sheri Elaine Waddell

Mrs. Sheri Pope Waddell, 40, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday Nov. 26, 2016 at Pitts Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, Nov. 25 at Pitts Baptist Church.
Sheri was born on July 13, 1976 in Charlotte to Ralph and Marie Pope. She was a graduate of UNC-Charlotte.
Sheri Pope Waddell was, in short, a light in a world of darkness. A beacon of what it is to be Christ to others here on this earth. Her unwavering faith in our Lord during her 2 ½ year journey with cancer was a witness to who He is and what we should all aim to be. Sheri was a person who walked into a room and you naturally gravitated toward her. You couldn’t explain why, but you were drawn in and made comforted no matter who you were. She was a friend, a loving mother, a loved daughter, a devoted sister, a listening aunt and a Christ like wife. Her smile will be dearly missed on this earth, but seen again one day in Heaven. To God be all the glory.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick A. Waddell; daughters, MacKenzie and Madison Waddell; sister, Paula Pope.
