January 3, 1968 — April 8, 2025

Concord

Mr. Timothy "Tim" Christopher Duffy, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, April 8,2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a brief illness.

A private funeral service will be held at a later time.

Tim was born January 3,1968 in Manchester, England to the late Francis Michael Xavier Duffy and Patricia Silvia Buckley Duffy. He and his family came to the United States in 1981.

Tim spent his childhood running around with his brothers and cousins—fighting over army men, making up stories, and spending hours at the airport before there was any security, pretending to be air traffic controllers. That’s where he earned the nickname “Firefox,” a name that stuck, thanks to his wild imagination and energy.

Tim was a gifted artist and an incredible carpenter. He could build anything—furniture, sculptures, paintings—you name it. His work wasn’t just skillful, it was beautiful.

After moving to the U.S., Tim met his first wife and had two children, Christopher and Danyle. Though the marriage didn’t last, he stayed involved in his kids’ lives. He eventually made his home in North Carolina, where his children would come spend summers with him. Those summers were full of camping trips, river rafting, and gem mining in the mountains. Tim especially loved building custom wooden boxes for Danyle’s gemstone collection—something they did together every year. He also spent those times talking with his kids about the Bible, sharing verses and stories that mattered to him.

Tim loved the Bible and he knew Jesus. His faith was quiet but steady, and it was a meaningful part of who he was.

Later, he had two more beautiful daughters, Rachel and his youngest, Magan.

Tim had a funny sense of humor—dry, clever, and sometimes completely unexpected. He could make people laugh without even trying, and he always had a sarcastic comment ready, usually when you least expected it.

He wasn’t a man of many words, but he showed love in the things he made and the time he gave. He’ll be remembered for his humor, his creativity, his faith, and his hands that never stopped working.

Tim is survived by children Christopher Duffy, Danyle Duffy (Brown), Magan Duffy, and Rachel Boyd; brothers David Duffy, Stephen Duffy, and Paul Duffy; eight grandchildren; and a number of extended family members.
