William Frank Crowle, 71, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026 after several years of declining health.
Bill was born on July 19, 1954 in East Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of Leonard Eugene and June Ris Crowle. In his youth, Bill was active in the Boy Scouts of America, obtaining Eagle Scout rank. He was a 1972 graduate of South Mecklenburg High School, where he participated in swimming and soccer. He played on the South Mecklenburg team that won the 1971 state soccer championship. He graduated from N.C. State University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology.
His career path led him to work for various companies in the N.C. commercial insurance industry, where he served as a Certified Insurance Counselor. After retirement, he obtained a Biomedical Equipment Technician degree and was employed in the Novant Health system.
In 1980, Bill married his wife, Lee Beth Patten. Bill and Lee Beth had two daughters, Kaye Elizabeth and Kristen Margaret. Bill was an exemplary girl dad.
He was a member of the Concord Rotary Club, an avid golfer, and a diehard N.C. State Wolfpack fan. He also enjoyed many years of playing City League softball. He was known for his outgoing, charming personality, and his innate ability to fix anything. Bill always looked forward to any and all family gatherings.
Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Kaye Elizabeth, and his parents, Len and June Crowle.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lee Beth, daughter Kristen Crowle, brothers Alan (Jeanne) Crowle of Raleigh NC, Ken (Louise) Crowle of West Jefferson, NC, nieces Whitney Sykes, Adelle Patten, and Hannah Ross Patten; nephews James Crowle, Tomas Crowle, and Will Patten, and his beloved dog Remi. Bill was greatly cherished by his mother-in-law Patricia Patten, brother-in-law Bill Patten, and sisters-in-law Jan Patten and Rebecca Patten.
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be conducted by the Reverend Ellen Crawford True at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday March 18 at 1:00 pm, with receiving to follow.
